Binna Burra Mountain Lodge
By Beautiful Weddings No comments
It’s always exciting and lots of fun to organize a photo shoot of our beautiful styling ideas and for the Hinterland region, I chose Binna Burra Mountain Lodge.
The venue has so much history and charm, not to mention spectacular views!
I wanted to style the venue in keeping with the rustic features of both the Groom’s Cottage and the Lodge.
The Grooms Cottage has a real fairytale feel to it, so I imagined a natural garden with lots of flowers to compliment the gorgeous old timber features.
Using one long table, covered with greenery and florals running through the centre. I wanted to frame the scene, so we featured lots of greenery on branches with hanging baubles from the ceiling, making a fairytale garden style setting by bringing the outside in.
Our rustic chairs were used for seating around the table and matched perfectly with all the natural timber and the fireplace was decorated with jasmine, greenery and flowers.
Continuing the garden theme using the staircase, we brightened up space with flowers to add a wild element.
We achieved a very whimsical look to highlight this gorgeous area and it was truly breathtaking to see this old charming cottage taken over by nature.
The cliff top dining room at the lodge is a very large room with lots of stone and ceiling high windows, taking in the breathtaking mountain valley views.
The main long table is a gorgeous piece of natural timber and features in the centre of the room. A pop of colour was needed which we achieved by using bright flowers in wooden boxes.
I handmade table runners of a very soft green and featured beautiful rustic lanterns with flowers. We added jars of florals and lots of tealights, which added romantic light and the ceiling lighting and draping softened the room.
I did not want to take anything away from the amazing natural views of this beautiful venue.

Chang and Shu’s Gold Coast Wedding at Sheraton Mirage
By Beautiful Weddings No comments
By Kara & Brad, Beautiful Weddings Gold Coast North.
When I first met Chang she was so quiet and shy, but Chang had such beautiful big brash ideas for her wedding styling and we were so excited!
Chang’s wedding styling inspiration was a romantic vintage garden of deep red florals. So with that as the brief, we got to work putting it all together with floral work by Jacqui M Designs and wedding styling by us.
For the wedding ceremony we used our chocolate deluxe arbour, featuring silver birch branches with beautiful long lengths of flowing white chiffon.
Fresh floral arrangements of gorgeous deep reds, pinks and Ivy were added to adorn the arbour. Stunning, romantic and whimsical!
Our rustic timber chairs were dressed with a burlap sash tied in a bow, with the aisle chairs styled with jars of fresh vintage florals.
Chang walked down the aisle on our burlap runner, framed by a mass of deep red rose petals.
We dressed the signing table with a burgundy satin cloth overlaid with vintage lace and featuring our slabs of natural timber with a fresh floral bouquet.
The ceremony was full of fun, music and laughter, as Chang and Shu’s guests enjoyed their special intimate ceremony in the South Island garden of Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast.
The wedding reception was amazing and we were so excited to see the vision come to life! Chang wanted to bring the vintage garden theming inside to the reception.
For the guest centerpieces we used our brown crystal trees with hanging glass baubles, filled with orchids and tea lights. The trees sat on a natural timber base lined with fresh moss to form a little garden bed of orchids. We scattered our natural timber tealight holders on our hand made vintage burlap and lace runners. We used burlap chair sashes for all the guest seating.
The bridal table sat in front of our romantic vintage curtain bridal backdrop and the table featured a burgundy satin cloth, overlaid with ivory tulle, which also formed soft draping and a giant bow in the front.
We added our vintage burlap and lace runners, lined with our natural timber tealight holders. The large floral train from the ceremony arbour was reused as the centre feature of the bridal table.
We added our bamboo ladders lined with fresh Ivy and hanging glass bauble tealights with 4 larger baubles and a garden bed of moss and orchids inside. All the baubles were hanging in a symphony of different heights, which hung above the bridal party table.
For the gift table we used our gorgeous Ivory birdcage wishing well, dressed with burlap and lace and the seating plan was our vintage wire frame with little wooden pegs to hold the seating cards. A cute little floral arrangement was featured in the corner.
We absolutely loved every minute of styling this gorgeous vintage garden wedding for Chang and Shu Lui. Congratulations!

Koru Ceremony
By Beautiful Weddings No comments
Continuing to innovate with wedding styling, we are proud to launch a beautiful new arbour and ceremony setting to our range. Designed and created by Co-Founder of Beautiful Weddings Australia, Nicole Ritchie.
Nicole explains, “The ‘koru’ ceremony style is my absolute favorite. Stunning in design concept and also very practical, it allows either a smaller or larger group of guests to all see every aspect of the ceremony clearly with not only room for plenty of chairs but also an abundance of standing room.”

“The bride enters the aisle and then follows a marked out spiral or coil shape where she can walk right past each and every one of her guests, taking the journey in and making eye contact with them all as she makes her way towards the groom.”

The Maori word ‘koru’ is the name for the spiral shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond. The circular shape of the koru symbol represents the idea of perpetual movement while the inner coil represents the heart or origin from which we come. Meaning “loop” it stands for new beginnings, growth, renewal, hope and endless possibility. The koru symbolizes the way in which life both changes and stays the same, a perfect story for a wedding.
To the Maori of New Zealand, the Koru is also a symbol of interconnectedness from one life to another, linking generation to generation. The roots are symbol of where we all came from, the deep genetic and cultural histories that are the basis of each of us, while the leaves reach skyward, shaping generations to come.
